Standard Mediterranean diet keeps the brain young -- This contribution is 1.382 days ago

From Star Online:

Mediterranean diet keeps the brain young

Lots of vegetables, olive oil, fish and occasionally a glass of wine - this diet does not appear to provide only for a longer life. It also lowers the risk of developing Alzheimer's.

The so-called Mediterranean diet not only prevents cardiovascular disease before, but also lowers the risk for Alzheimer's disease. The American researchers conclude from the results of a study of more than 2200 participants, they observed an average of four years. Their conclusion: The subjects that have little meat and dairy products, but took a lot of fish, fruits, vegetables and grain products, and a little alcohol in reducing their risk of illness by almost 40 percent compared to those who gave up the diet. Nikolaos Scarmeas report on their work from Columbia University in New York and his colleagues in the journal Annals of Neurology.

In the Mediterranean diet is not a diet in the traditional sense, but a basic diet, as is typical for countries around the Mediterranean Sea. Healthy olive oil plays a key role, as well as lots of fresh vegetables, tomatoes, garlic, fish, bread and some red wine. The positive effect of such a diet on the cardiovascular system has now been demonstrated in a number of studies. Already for a long time, experts also suspect that the influence of healthy ingredients and the absence of animal fats and proteins, the dementia risk positive. Characteristic of Alzheimer's protein deposits in the brain.

Hello Michael

Have looked at the site and start dreaming of grad from the south!
Degrees in the summer is easy for me to live in the Mediterranean style!

Something I do not understand: 1 On the Mediterranean, they eat animal protein and especially almost always white bread! I have nothing against a fine cheese!

I stand on crabs and clams, but not at!
Fish already.

2. I like to drink wine ansich, but only a glass, if possible, spray!
I have trouble with red wine, because it results in me a histamine release, so I need more anti-histamine against my pollen and house dust allergy.

However, tomatoes, zucchini, peppers, olive oil and garlic ... I'm there! Well bekomms! Lieber Gruss Artemisia

... ... ... ... The population will be taught at least five portions fruit and vegetables in a total increase amounts to 400 to 650 grams per day to himself. guarantee a healthy, wholesome nutrition.
proper nutrition is the basis for health, well being and capacity are improved... ....... You get the last time to hear again and again ... ... it can protect against ernährungsmitbedingten diseases in old age, such as in obesity, hypertension, diabetes, or arteriosclerosis... If I stumble over such lines, she is in me every time the question ,........ how am I supposed to create it ...... ... ..., you have experience with it? ... If so, handles like her ... ... ..5 times a day fruit and vegetables ... .... I create, if it comes up 3 times.
feed me to the local habits (Mediterranean diet). and hardly take snacks with me.

Hello,

If there is something to which I have set the search for simple answers, then there is the relationship of nutrition and health. What is healthy for one, may be harmful for another.
I believe there is no food that is not touted as a health-from one side, from a different angle then denounced as harmful to health.
I, for my site have found the solution that I eat what I was just hungry. I may as not even the taste of alcohol. Therefore believe that this for me in small portions, not "will be healthy."
I also like nothing that tastes bitter. Bitter in terms of health is associated with the promotion of bile flow in combination. Maybe my body is an "extra" bile just unusable.
Doctors have the book of the "healing power of our food." Since then I can find out which diet makes sense for any disease. But would not eat if I had to do with overcoming an inner repugnance.

Liebe Grüße Ulrike

I also think that no one can be clairvoyant. But I sometimes go a reverse path. If someone does not like certain things that can be a clue. Similarly, if someone certain things in excess is taken. I think it most important to trust his own inner voice. If I am hungry for fruit, I should eat it. If I'm not hungry for fruit, will already have a reason and I would not hineinzwingen me then to say: it's so healthy.
