Hi
I once got a question.
Always in the winter I get winter depression.
I've heard that some people will help St. John's wort extract, but it did not tried myself.
Does anyone else experience that?
How many notes can you do?
Greeting and thanks

Re: St. John's wort for depression? Hello Sunflower
I myself have no experience with St. John's wort extract, because I do not suffer from depression.
In a lecture us about the time St. John was cut short.
The critical issue "at St. John's wort is that it is a natural product, where no one the real drug (or drug combinations known), which generates a mood brightening.
Thus a mood effect is not guaranteed.
A batch (capsules or drops produced in a day) can act as very good, and the next again, vary just because the concentrations at the crucial ingredient.
St. John's wort should be taken over a longer period, before a mood effect shows.
But you can try it even once. Damage does not do it
However, if you suffer from depression in winter only, then it is possibly only at the lack of light.
There is some daylight lamps produce light in a given wave spectrum.
The help for pure winter depression is usually best.
The best times you will inform you when your family doctor.
Greeting

Re: St. John's wort for depression? Light, or its absence, is definitely the catalyst for a so-called winter depression.
St. John's wort increases the sensitivity to light, so what does your mood. Therefore, one should not take too long under the sun bed or sunbathing if you are taking St. John's wort. The fact is sunburn.
Otherwise, it definitely helps, however. But even against "winter depression". Against "real" depression St John's wort can also do nothing.
Regards,
Philipp

Re: St. John's wort for depression? And care:
I understand John's wort can negate the effects of the anti-birth control!
